With a construction project, KIEFEL GmbH is accommodating the strong growth
in international markets. A new logistics centre is being developed at the
headquarters of the specialist for plastics processing technologies.
The official ground-breaking ceremony on 17th August 2015 heralded the start of
construction. Holding the shovel are Josef Flatscher, 1st mayor of Freilassing, Roland
Richter MdL a.D., the managing directors of KIEFEL GmbH, Thomas Halletz, Peter
Eisl, Dr. Bernd Stein, and Helmut Strecha, the Production division manager.
Work processes can be configured more efficiently thanks to the new building. Short
distances are guaranteed. The logistics centre is connected to the existing assembly
halls via gates. It is the delivery hub and is used to prepare machine components for
installation. There is also space for packing and loading the completed systems here.
This will ensure that the company can gain valuable assembly space in the halls. A
great deal of importance was placed on sustainability and energy efficiency for the
technical building equipment.
Following on from the extensions to the employee car parks, installing air conditioning
and the associated insulation and façade construction on the assembly halls for
medical systems, this construction project represents an important investment in the
Freilassing location.
