More performance, less energy

The new SPEEDFORMER KTR 6.2 Speed stands for high performance, energy efficiency, and sustainable automation – featured in the joint Siemens Success Story.

The KTR 6.2 Speed delivers up to 50% higher output while reducing energy consumption by 10%. It processes PET or R-PET in a single forming and punching step. The redesigned machine concept, optimized processes, and intuitive operation make production even more efficient.

What matters to our customers is how they can operate profitably with our solutions. Pure output is only one aspect – energy costs, flexibility, and usability are just as important.

Michael Staudinger, Product Manager at Kiefel

Automation on a new foundation

In cooperation with Siemens, Kiefel developed a compact and standardized automation solution. The new SIMATIC S7-1518 TF controller combined with the SINAMICS S120 drive system manages all machine processes – including integrated safety functions. The visualization is based on SIMATIC WinCC Unified.

With WinCC Unified, we have developed a modern visualization with excellent usability. This means short training times, fast recipe optimization, and efficient error handling for our customers.

Faster commissioning, digital future

Thanks to modular software blocks and option handling in the TIA Portal, commissioning time is reduced by up to 40%. A digital twin allows virtual testing and training before the real machine goes into operation.

We need to develop new solutions quickly. That requires a foundation covering most of the functionality – and that includes a well-structured, future-oriented automation.
