KIEFEL GmbH with headquarters in Freilassing, Germany, stands for high-quality machines and outstanding service. That would not be possible without the dedicated and well-trained staff. The ground-breaking ceremony on 28.02.2018 is the starting signal for the new Kiefel Training Centre in Freilassing. Starting from the end of this year, it will offer not only a state-of-the-art teaching and training environment for young people from the region, but also for national and international assembly and service employees.
A new central warehouse and the Kiefel Think Tank for fundamental development were the focus of the expansion at the Freilassing location in 2017. In 2018, the specialist for plastics technology will focus on the construction of the new training center.
Training center with unique flair
The training rate at Kiefel is a good ten percent, well above the average of comparable companies. Of the currently 530 employees at the Freilassing location, 50 are apprentices. With the new center, which will extend over three floors, Kiefel is going even further: The number of available training places will rise to 80!
On more than 1500m2, the future training center will offer trainees and Kiefel employees a modern training environment. The ground and first floor will be the new home for the commercial and technical training departments. Specialist educators are available for the basics course in metal, electrical and control technology modules as well as for the apprenticeship of the latest milling technology with innovative CAD / CAM technology and robotics. The Kiefel employees will also enjoy optimal training conditions in a multi-purpose room for 150 people and a PC training room.
Central training hub
In addition to the prospective electronics technicians for automation technology, industrial mechanics, warehouse logistics specialists, technical product designers and industrial clerks, the investment in the new training center will also benefit service and assembly technicians from all over the world.
Thus, the training center in Freilassing will become the central hub of Kiefel's worldwide activities.
Furthermore, on the second and third floors office spaces will be provided for service and the central technical departments.
Investment in specialists and executives of the future
Kiefel is investing a double-digit million amount in the building and the future-oriented equipment of the premises. With a construction period of 10 months, completion is expected at the turn of the year.
Kiefel Managing Director and CFO Peter Eisl emphasizes: "With the continued expansion of the Freilassing site, we are ensuring high training standards and offer young people an optimal start to their professional lives as well as real future perspectives." After the apprenticeship, many young people start their careers at Kiefel whilst many others continue their studies and later return to Kiefel. Eisl states: "We are investing in our future specialists and executives and in the education and training of our experienced staff. That is the basis for our performance, our growth and our success."
